However, in the first three months of the current season, the EU imported less soybeans than last year, according to the German Union for the Promotion of Oilseeds and Cereals (UFOP). According to the European Commission, from July to early October 2025, the EU imported just under 3.3 million tonnes of soybeans, approximately 129,000 tonnes less than in the same period of the 2024/25 season. Brazil and the United States remain the main suppliers, although, according to the EU’s research, the former has significantly reduced its import volumes. In the first three months, the EU received approximately 1.8 million tonnes of soybeans from Brazil, approximately 14% less than in the same period of 2024/25.
