Since India relies heavily on the import market to meet the needs of apples for its citizens, the imposition of a 20% tariff on US apples certainly worries US farmers, because their exports may continue to fall. US apple exports to India were even recorded four times lower than in 2018. Meanwhile, Italian exports also fell due to developing diseases in apples, where 50% of production is hardly sprouted at all. It is also affected by the late harvest time which should have occurred in the spring season. Chile also appears to be adjusted to India's import regulations which require imports of certain fruit and vegetables to be certified as non-GMO. India's three important export markets are now falling in 2020 since its exports have been limited by trade agreements and seasonal issues.
