Lower Price of Peruvian Asparagus Attracts the US to Increase Volume Import

The wholesale price of Peruvian asparagus decreased by -10.76% YoY. The price of asparagus in Peru stood at USD 1.51 per kg in W4 Dec 2021, compared to the same period in the preceding year was USD 1.7 per kg. A 5% higher Peruvian asparagus production in 2021 resulting in the price decrease in Dec 2021. The US seized the momentum to increase Peruvian asparagus import volume by 9.7% YoY in the first ten months of 2021.
