Peruvian Asparagus Prices in the US Decrease with New Phytosanitary Regulation

The wholesale price of US imported asparagus from Peru dropped by 23.5% MoM to USD 7.35/kg in W2 Aug-22. The new regulation between the US and Peru will allow pest mitigation measures without fumigation with methyl bromide, which will benefit the small producers of Peruvian asparagus and improve the exports of Peruvian asparagus to the US.
