Wholesale prices for the Russet potato variety continue to increase in the US as entering the second quarter of 2021. The highest value occurred in the fourth week of September at 20.4 USD per (50 lb). Canada is a major supplier for the country with an increase of more than 30% by 2020. Severe weather in October 2019 hampered harvests in the main production regions whid led to supply shortages. This allows potato prices continued to hike throughout 2021.
