The wholesale price of Basmati rice in Pakistan fell -25.55% YoY to 0.66 USD/pound in W5 September 2021. Nonetheless, rice exports from Pakistan are predicted to rise this year as the harvest season begins and is available in the market. Last year, the export value fell due to Covid-19 and tough competition with Indian suppliers which offered at lower prices. On the other hand, China, which receives lower exports from Pakistan, has increased its imports from Myanmar and Vietnam.
