The price fluctuation of potatoes can be seen in Russia and the US while the price in France market tends to increase gradually but experienced a decline in May 2021. The price for Russet potatoes in the US market even dropped by -30.95% from last year. At the same time, the French market has hardly changed the price of potatoes at all from last year, while a significant increase was recorded in Russia of +59.78%. Since the US and France were listed as the main producers, the two countries have been actively sending potatoes abroad. France is for European markets such as Belgium while the US is targeting North American markets such as Canada and Mexico. While Russia imported a sizeable amount of potatoes from Egypt.
