The European Commission has implemented a new regulation imposing tariffs on US-origin fruits, vegetables, and various foodstuffs in a counter-reaction to the US tariffs imposed on European products.

The new regulation calls for new import duties varying from 15% to 25% depending on the products. The new regulation enters into effect as of Nov, 9th 2020, and products affected are sweet potatoes, pecans, dates, grapefruits, cranberries, blueberries, raspberries, raisins as well as cheddar cheese, ketchup, and orange juice.

The EC announced that the new regulation is a counter-move for the unresolved trade dispute between the EU and the USA.
