Vietnamese representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will visit Greece at the end of June 2023 to accomplish the risk assessment protocol for quarantine pests. This procedure is the 1st step to determine the conditions under which Greek kiwis can be exported to Vietnam, and will potentially open a new market of 100 million consumers for Greek kiwi exports. After last year's finalisation of relevant protocols for export to Brazil, the Vietnamese market is the new milestone for the Greek kiwi sector. Currently, Greece is 2nd in the world with 300K MT of kiwi production and 200K MT of exports which brings in close to half a billion Euro in income.
