Global: la peste porcina africana se está propagando en los Balcanes

El número de brotes de peste porcina africana en los Balcanes está aumentando rápidamente. Ya se han registrado cientos de granjas porcinas infectadas en Bosnia y Herzegovina y Croacia, donde la enfermedad apareció por primera vez el verano pasado. A total of 900 outbreaks of African swine fever have been reported in Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the registration system of the World Organization for Animal Health, this concerns a total of almost 38,000 pigs. Croatia has already reported 481 outbreaks involving almost 10,000 pigs to the World Organization for Animal Health. The European Animal Disease Information System (Adis) already has 863 outbreaks. In Serbia there are 851 outbreaks. In these three Balkan countries, outbreaks mainly involve backyard farms (backyard pigs) and small farms of up to 150 pigs.
