The last Summary of Bulls from the Girolando Genetic Improvement Program (PMGG) brings the PTA (abbreviation in English that means predicted transmission capacity for the descendants) of the characteristic linked to tolerance to thermal stress. This was the big news of 2022 in the genetic evaluation of the breed, coordinated by Embrapa Gado de Leite in partnership with the Brazilian Association of Girolando Breeders. The inclusion of this PTA in the summary was based on the results obtained through a thorough study, considering 650,000 dairy controls, from more than 69,000 cows and approximately 21,000 genotyped animals, over a decade across the country. .
