In Brazil, the tropical climate favors the cultivation of a variety of fruits, including carambola, which originated in Asia and arrived in the country in the 19th century, initially in the Northeast. Over the years, the carambola culture has expanded, finding in the interior of São Paulo a favorable environment for its development. On a property in Mirandópolis, in northwest São Paulo, 1,000 carambola plants are in production. The harvest is carried out manually, with the fruits being removed one by one from the trees and undergoing a first selection.
