Japan is known for being a floating factory. This is because the Island has, in the robustness of the industry, its great lever of development. It was in the aggregation of value through the import of raw materials and the export of manufactured goods that Japan emerged from a situation of total destruction in the post-war period, to one of the most important world powers. With few mechanized areas available for agriculture and livestock, Japan is a net food importer. Rice is the basis of Japanese food and, as a matter of national security, this culture has great government incentives for its production. Japan is also one of the biggest importers of dairy products in the world. According to the International Farm Comparison Network (IFCN), in 2022 the Japanese dairy industry produced 7.41 billion liters of milk, as shown in Table 1.
