Cattle raising has long been a traditional occupation of the people of Soc Trang province, especially the Khmer people. With favorable conditions, abundant agricultural by-products, estimated at 2.12 million tons/year, can be used as fodder for livestock. From 2021, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province has approved the project "Developing cow husbandry in Soc Trang province in the period of 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030", with a total budget of over VND 2,208 billion.
