New Zealand dairy exports grew again in September, with the total volume of all dairy products up 32% year-on-year, although year-to-date exports were still down 6%. Exports of whole milk powder (WMP) increased 26% year-on-year. Year-to-date WMP exports remain 16% lower. WMP exports to China were down 33% year-on-year in September, with the increase coming from increased exports to other destinations. New Zealand sent more WMP to Southeast Asia, the Middle East and South America. Interestingly, Cuba suddenly skyrocketed in market share, with 5.15% of the total volume of WMP exports shipped to Cuba in September. Year-to-date, WMP exports from New Zealand to Cuba increased by over 200% to just over 9,000 t.
