With more than 200 varieties, Spain is the biggest producer in the European Union of plums with more than 140,000MT per year. Extremadura region, with its extraordinary climate and soil, produces a sweet and tender fruit that is highly appreciated not only in Europe but also in Brazil, Canada, and U.A.E.
Known as the Queen of Spanish Stone Fruits, plums are available from June to August. They are very juicy and sweet with soft flesh, and they are often used in baking and making jam/jelly.
