Bananas are an important part of Guatemala’s economy as well as lifestyle. The banana industry in Guatemala has gone through various changes in terms of shareholding with MNC’s entering the South American market.
Today the industry is shifted towards smallholder farms and diversification for fair competition. Local farmers have partnered with large corporations and have developed the industry into a diversified business, working to expand to other tropical fruits.
We Tridge has partnered with verified suppliers/producers whose plantations are located on the Pacific coast of Guatemala which enjoys unrivaled growing conditions and a privileged geographical location that allows for efficient logistics with easy and fast access to its destination markets via both Pacific and Atlantic ports. The bananas come from plantations that are certified by Rainforest Alliance, ISO 14001, and Global GAP, only after strict and careful and strict monitoring of the production and packing process ensuring compliance of all activities, from sowing to harvesting to packing.
