Morocco has a 3500-km-long-coast, most of which is located on the Atlantic but a portion of which, east of the Gibraltar Strait in the northeast of the Kingdom, is on the Mediterranean Sea. Morocco is considered among the top 15 of the largest producers and exporters of seafood and the first exporter of Octopus in the world with a global market share of 30%.
Nearly 95% of fished octopus is exported to many countries worldwide mainly in Europe and Asia. During the 2020 winter season, about 5.720 tons have been fished, processed, and exported bringing a total value of approximately USD 45 million.
Tridge with its extensive network of octopus suppliers located in Morocco offers top quality octopus which is well known and distinguished by the fact that octopus feeds itself on clams and crustaceans in the far south Moroccan Atlantic Ocean. Moroccan octopus is rich in proteins, Omega-3, and fatty acids. It is also a source of vitamin B12, zinc, iron, and other nutrients which are necessary for the good health of the human body.
