Argentina is a leader producer and exporter country of lemons. It has the largest lemon cluster worldwide, which industrializes 77% of the crop and exports 18% fresh. It is the world's leading lemon processor and main exporter of concentrated juice, pulps, essential oil and dehydrated peel. In 2019/20 the country produced 1.9 M tons. Producers and workers are very well trained and they have a deep knowledge about the industry and production as a whole. Most international quality certificates are available.

Production Facility & Quality
The main offer of Argentine are at the North of the country in the following provinces: Tucumán (80%), Salta (14%), Corrientes (3.60%) and Jujuy (2.8%), contribute more than 98% of the national total with a clear predominance of the first of them. Tucuman province, concentrates 80% of this agro-industry. There are some 50,000 hectares planted and it generates 50,000 direct jobs.
Available Varieties of Lemons
Eureka: Variety of vigorous plants. It has two blooms during the year, in winter with 70% and summer with 30%. It is mainly used for fresh consumption, although it has good industrial performance.
Lisbon: It is very productive, with two productions in the year, in winter with 80% and summer with 20%. They have good juice performance and high acidity. This variety is used for fresh consumption and the industry.
Limoneira: It has two important productions in the year, in winter (70%) and summer (30%). Its fruits are medium to small in size, good shape, few seeds, and with a good content of juice and acidity as well as high content of essential oils, which makes it suitable for the industry.
Genoa: production in winter.
