Grown at 1,100 meters above sea level, it is characterized by being a thick, oval fruit. Unlike other varieties of pineapple, the MD2 pineapple has five times more content of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) than the rest of the varieties, giving it an incredibly sweet flavor, it also has a much longer shelf life and a texture of more consistent pulp which makes it have a spectacular color becoming a high quality product. Destined to countries such as the United States, Mexico, El Salvador, among others, the pineapple from Guatemala has positioned itself as a product of the highest quality.
