Mexico's great tropical climate creates the perfect conditions to produce superior quality tropical fruits. And the year-round availability ensures consistent supply allowing to build programs on a weekly basis. The most common varieties of Papaya in Mexico are Formosa and Maradol. Formosa stands out as the species has red pulp and a good strong aroma. Maradol also has a strong aroma, but tends to be more elongated than other varieties.
There are diverse growers in Mexico, from the southern border close to Guatemala and Belice, up to the north of Mexico in Sinaloa or Tamaulipas. However, not all growers have the certifications required to export, which makes it hard to find growers as we have. Our growers have the necessary certifications to export to the United States, Canada, and Europe. The main varieties are Maradol and Intenzza for the US market, Intenzza for Canada, and Formosa(green papaya) for Europe and Asia.
