The Companies Act of 1913 was used to form Apex Foods Limited (AFL) on March 21, 1979. (Repealed in 1994). AFL is a value-added shrimp processing company that is 100% export-focused. It is one of the most advanced seafood processing facilities in Asia, with the most up-to-date processing, freezing, and storage equipment. It is also the largest processor and exporter of frozen seafood in Bangladesh. It has established a blue-chip clientele with a steady flow of orders and its high-quality products are well known in the international seafood market.
AFL has won various awards and accolades for its export volume and product quality from both domestic and international governments. In its production process, AFL rigorously complies with the HACCP (Food Safety System of FDA) based quality assurance program. Additionally, AFL has a BRC-Global Standard for Food Safety certification and a 2 Star BAP certification (Issue 6). The company exports its goods to markets in North America, the EU, Australia, and Russia.
