Coffee Exported from Kenya is a distinct Arabica Coffee known for its unique rich flavorcapped with a deep, wine-like acidity and a pleasant aroma, making itdistinctly bright with complex tones of fruit and berry. It has a resonant cuppresence with intense flavors and a rather distinct winey richness, which iswhy they are famed for their potent sweetness and powerful character.
A good Kenya Coffee is not subtle or delicate, but is vibrant, clean and crispwhich is why on an overall scale it is said to be typically very well -balanced. Notes of lemony citrus may be present, even pepper, along with tones ofblackberry. The aftertaste of a Premium Kenya Coffee may be quite dry witha lemony zest. Kenyan Premium Coffee especially is globally accepted and in high demand due to their well-balanced nature which includes their taste, acidity and body (mouthfeel), which brings an intoxicating black currantundertone in its flavor and aroma.
All the Coffee we source from Kenya is carefully graded after harvest and later after hulling. The process involves separating (sorting) the Coffee which is laterrated by bean size as well as shape, color, and density. The best coffee beansfrom Kenya are graded Kenya AA which are grown at elevations higher than 6,600 feet above sea level and are considered to be one of the world’s finest Specialty Coffees. A general rules with Kenya coffee beans is that bigger beans have more essential oils that enhance the tastes and aromas. Other factors are also important such as the quality which is where the Certified Q Graders (cuppers) also known as professional coffee tasters debate whetherthe bean size necessarily means a better quality of roasted, ground and brewed Kenyan coffee.
