In Limpopo, a small farm called Blueberry Heights cultivates kiwis and delicious, healthy blueberries in harmony with nature. They are an export-quality producer of fresh and frozen blueberries that have been organically certified (Ecocert, "ZA-Bio-154"). Their orchards are on Goedehoop Farm, about 30 kilometers from Tzaneen and outside of Haenertsburg.
The farm started growing blueberries in 1995, and they are grown according to strict organic standards. As a result, the farm uses natural composting and vermiculture practices to boost the health of the blueberry bushes and uses no industrial fertilizers.
Blueberries are a superfood that has been shown to have numerous health benefits and a high level of antioxidants. They have been shown to fight cancer, make blood vessels stronger, make it easier to see, make memory better, and help the brain and nerves work better. Blueberries are not only nutritious, but they are also an extremely adaptable ingredient that can elevate a variety of dishes.
