As early as 2014, the idea of distilling spirits of high quality and, above all, those produced in the region was born. Martin Neumann needed to make something substantial, away from what previously existed. One thing was certain about him: He wasn't sure where he was going. He wanted to live up to the reputation of the area, which needs excellent, traditional schnapps.

At first, it was about putting the hand-sparked passion into action. Martin's insatiable need for action was almost impossible to quench, and it became immediately clear how adaptable this initial hobby was. Ordered was a 250 l spirit still. Martin quickly realized that practice is the best teacher.

There was hardly any prior experience. We are fortunate to live in a digital age, and Martin has always been self-sufficient. Yes, there were a lot of mistakes, but mistakes teach us something, and that is still our motto today.

From the initial concept to the first spirit, almost a year and a half passed. As he gave his family and friends his first schnapps, a caraway, Martin burst into tears of joy. In May 2016, in recognition of the caraway's potential for market penetration, a farm shop was opened alongside the distillery.
