Farmer Direct Co-op was established in 2002. Initially, it sold its grains, seeds, and legumes to organic food manufacturers in Canada, the USA, Europe, and Asia. Some of its products are Products include beans, lentils, flaxseeds, oats, peas, and hemp.
In 2013, they partnered with Whole Foods Market and consented to sell its bulk bin grains in all of its stores under the Farmer Direct Co-op brand name. In May 2018, the Farmer Direct Co-op brand was relaunched as Farmer Direct Organic. It hopes to re-establish vital connections between growers and consumers around the world.
