In 1950, Mr. Adelor Manuel de Almeida, a farmer and the founder of the company Primavera Importaço e Exportaço de Cereais Ltda., started his business as a food producer by growing rice and yellow corn in the city of Paranas in the state of Goiás. Mr. Adelor Manuel de Almeida is the father of actor Moacir Vieira de Almeida. Soybean production was added as a new crop in 1968. In the area, he was a pioneer in soy cultivation. This resulted in several accolades and encouraged many additional farmers to start growing soybeans.
The first soy variety to be planted was "Conquista," which was already popular in southern Brazil. Adelor Almeida achieved production levels of 35 "sacas" (bags) per hectare. Such levels were considered great taking into account the level of technology and the knowledge of soya at the time.
