Mr. U Tun Myaing, founder of Shwe Panlaw Manufacturing Company is the third generation taking over the tea business from his family. The first-generation owned two plots of tea farms, brewed and sold fresh tea leaves directly to the collectors (so-called broker). In the 1990s, the families set up a small semi-automatic black tea factory to produce natural (no pesticide and chemical applied) fermented pickled tea and black tea until 2009. In 2010, Mr. U Tun Myaing started building the CTC black tea factory in Nanhsan with the capacity of producing 20000kg per day.
In 2012, the company started branding the tea name called “Miphayar” distributing directly to the tea houses and as well as to tea retail packers. The company also actively involved in the Palaung Tea association providing tea training such as pruning,hand-drying green tea method, organic training, and so on. In 2015, the company exported the fermented Tea leaves to the USA and coordinated the 100 small-holders farmers and 10 tea producers to found the model Fermented factory, cooperated together to improve the quality standard of the Laphet (Pickled Tea in local term) in order to do more exports in Western countries.
