Sunfoods Co.,Ltd. was established in 1916 in Hiroshima City. celebrated its 100th birthday in 2016. The business has expanded steadily as Hiroshima's culinary scene has developed as a producer of liquid spices for okonomiyaki (a Japanese savory pancake), a characteristic dish of the city, and for other well-liked Japanese foods. Its signature items are the sauces made just for okonomiyaki, Mitsuwa Okonomi Sauce and Higashimaru Okonomi Sauce.

 All 24 okonomiyaki eateries in Okonomimura, Japan's renowned okonomiyaki theme park, now use Sunfoods' okonomiyaki sauces.
