Wheat Millers and Grinders was founded in 1998 by George Savides Snr as a grain mill.

In 2000, Terry Savides graduated from the University of Johannesburg (formerly he was Rand Afrikaans University-RAU) with a degree in B.Comm Economic and Logistic Management and joined his father.

In 2007, they felt the need to branch out into another area where they could use their product and started making dried noodles.
