For over a century, the Cecchi family has been a point of reference in the Italian wine sector.
It all began in 1893 with Luigi Cecchi, who laid the foundations of a dynasty dedicated to quality viticulture, giving life to a journey lasting over 130 years inspired by the exaltation of the terroirs of Tuscany and Umbria.
Villa Cerna represents the first reality in Chianti Classico in Castellina in Chianti, where the family has lived since the 1960s. With a pioneering spirit, starting from the 1990s, the Cecchi family continued on its path by investing in Maremma, with Val delle Rose, on the Tuscan coast. In the 2000s it was the turn of Tenuta Alzatura in Umbria, a small gem in the Montefalco area. Deeply believing in the territory of origin, Chianti Classico, Villa Rosa was purchased in 2014, an estate with a very high vocation for the production of wines expressing the most authentic and fine elegance of the Sangiovese in Castellina in Chianti. Continuing their journey between the Tuscan and Umbrian denominations, in 2018 it was the time of Montalcino, where the family purchased an estate in the Castelnuovo Dell'Abate area, another terroir extremely suited and unique for the expressiveness and authenticity of Sangiovese, reflecting the Cecchi Family's deep belief in the longevity and elegance of this grape variety.
Today, under the leadership of the fourth generation, represented by Andrea Cecchi, the company continues to invest in excellent wine-growing areas while maintaining a strong "vigneron" imprint, always focusing on quality, sustainability and innovation.
