Lulo is a very common fruit in Colombia and also grows in other Latin American countries. It is also known as naranjilla in Ecuador, Panama and Costa Rica. Similar to a tomato but with a different consistency and yellow in colour. It is covered by a thin membrane which is easily removed when washed. It has a sour and juicy taste and its pulp is full of seeds. Its juicy pulp can be used in juices along with the skin or peel, consuming all the nutrients, fibres and minerals it has to offer. Nutritional information: Lulo is rich in Vitamin C, Lulo fruit has been found to have high levels of vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin K, folate, niacin, and thiamine, as well as calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, and dietary fiber.
