Two Districts in Tanzania Have Set Aside 900 Acres of Land for Avocado Cultivation

Tanzania through the financed GROWTH project has imparted skills through training on good agricultural practices to 554 avocado and banana crop growers and 18 government officers from Arusha and Meru district councils to produce high-quality crops. Nearly 900 acres are currently under avocados in Arusha with the potential to yield 1,000MT by 2027. Tanzania is expected to export 15,000MT of avocado oil in 2023 at an estimated value of USD 45M.
