The supply of live cattle in the Brazilian market was hampered by the prolonged drought. It even delayed the development of the crop herd. Most of the animals in the pasture will be slaughtered only in the first quarter of 2021. Given this scenario, the slaughter of animals this year may register a 7% drop compared to 2019. With increased domestic demand and high exports a restricted supply of animals will result in an upward trend in the prices of the cattle.
