The US tangerine and mandarin crops in 2022 are forecasted at 878,000mt, down 26% from the 2021 season’s final utilization. The California tangerine and mandarin forecast at 840,000mt, down 27% from the 2021 season total. The growth trend of tangerine and mandarin production in the U.S. over the last 20 years has increased at an average annual rate of 5% since the 2001–02 season. Smaller harvests are projected in both California and Florida, with 95% of all domestic production occurring in California. Tangerine imports are up 142% season to date; exports declined 16%.
