The 2024 Greek apricot season is expected to end in the first week of Aug-24. This year has been particularly challenging due to a warm winter and drought, leading to low yields. Compared to the 2023 season, yield losses are estimated at around 50%, with some areas in northern Greece experiencing reductions of up to 70 to 80%. This significant decline has led to a shortage of apricot derivatives, including puree, canned goods, and pulp, severely impacting the fruit processing industry.
