Turkey is looking to improve its $357 million dairy exports

Turkey had increased its dairy product exports by 10% in 2019 and reached 357 million USD. Turkish Ministry of Agriculture noted that they are expecting to further improve this number with the opening of the China market for Turkish milk products.

The country had produced 1,100 kmt of excess supply of milk which was used in 92.3 kmt production of milk powder. Turkey's milk production had increased by 3.8% in 2019 and reached 22,900 kmt which places Turkey 8th in the world in milk production and 3rd in Europe after Germany and France.

In terms of domestic consumption, annual milk consumption per person has increased to 276 kilograms in 2019 which is significantly higher than the world's average of 110 kilograms and slightly lower than Europe's average of 329 kilograms.
