As the prices of ginger and turmeric are at their all-time highs across Indonesia, more and more consumers are shifting for a substitute product such as Temulawak, to be consumed in order to improve their immunity to fight the spread of the Coronavirus.

Similar to turmeric and ginger, Temulawak (a local variety of turmeric) has also been clinically proven to contain nutrients that can improve the body's immune system and is also highly available in most regions of Indonesia, especially in the traditional markets. Still, despite its high availability, the price of this commodity has gone up slightly from IDR 5000/Kg to IDR 7000/Kg as the supplier are taking the increase in demand to maximize their revenue.
