Iran has exported 4,000 tons of tea during the previous Iranian year (Mar '19-Mar '20).
Iran's Tea Organization (ITO) has purchased more than 53 KMT of tea leaves worth $56 million since the beginning of the Iranian year until now. The dried tea production is estimated at 12 KMT for the same period and it is an increase of more than 9% compared to the same period last year.
More than 55,000 families are said to be involved in tea farming cultivating more than 28,000 hectares of land.
Iran mainly exports its tea to India, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Canada, Australia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
