All border posts in Zimbabwe are set to remain open during the period of the national lockdown to help facilitate necessary imports into the country such as essential food products like Maize. Zimbabwe has undergone economic turmoil in recent years and due to the severe drought that took place in 2019, it remains heavily dependant on imports and the opening of the country's borders is set to help facilitate that.
