Indonesian government through its Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries has passed on the law that tightens the export rule in Indonesia by forbidding the trading of egg-hatching lobster and limit trading to fresh lobster and processed ones. Despite the fact that egg-hatching lobsters can be sold at a higher price, the government argued that this particular variety is needed in order to keep the lobster production sustainable in the long run. Moreover, the government stated that the violation of this law may bring heavy fines and a revocation of the export license.
