In the first two quarters of 2020, the export of milkfish from Indonesia has shown significant growth in comparison to the same time period last year. Two countries where the export has seen the most significant growth are Thailand and the USA, who have been importing these commodities to supply the demand from their national consumers in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. The export volume to the USA and Thailand grew to the level of 44 KMT and 14 KMT, respectively, from the recorded export volume last year at 38 KMT and 11 KMT. The current growth in export is viewed as a good momentum for the Indonesian milkfish industry to also book another noteworthy export volume entering the third quarter of 2020.
