Malaysian government would support local fishermen with monthly allowances

The government will assist all fishermen affected by the lockdown and COVID issue in Malaysia. The monthly allowance of RM250 was channeled through the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM) until the end of 2020. More help is focused on the east coast fishermen and the Sarawak Sabah which are the main catching areas such as sardines, squid, and shrimp.
