EU countries imported more organic tropical fruits, less organic grains in 2019

The European Union has imported 3.24 million tons of organic food and agricultural products in 2019 which is a slight increase of %0,4 compared to 2018. The share of organic foodstuffs is around 2% of the total imports.
The Netherlands is responsible for %32 of the organic imports, whereas Germany is for 13%, the UK for 12%, and Belgium is responsible for 11%.
The main product was banana with 85% of the total organic food imports and the main supplier countries were China, Ukraine, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, Turkey, India, Colombia, Kazakhstan, and Brazil.
