The total production output of potato in Indonesia in the period of January to March 2020 was recorded at 18,000 MT, a slight decrease compared to the same period last year. The decrease in production was caused by the long drought that hampered Indonesia during the beginning of the production season in September 2019. Despite the lower production output, the average price of potato nationally is still stable at IDR 12.000-15.000/Kg on the retailer level, as the demand for potato from the local market is also still at the normal level, with the biggest demand comes from the Fastfood restaurant industry, which can absorb around 10 MT of fresh potato daily.
