Iraq is one of the main export destinations for Turkish fresh fruits and vegetables.
At this time of the year, Iraq usually imports big quantities of pomegranates from Turkey.
However, after a coronavirus case confirmed in Iraq, Turkish authorities decided to close the most active land border with Iraq, Habur border, in an attempt to avoid any contaminations arriving in Turkey from Iraq.
At the moment, all shipments from Turkey to Iraq and any shipments from Iraq to Turkey are banned, badly affecting Turkish exporters in particular.
