Rains in the area causing farmers to abandon onion planting

The Tanzania market is expected to experience a shortage of onions resulting from the continued rains in most areas of the country. During the rainy season, onion planting is low because most farmers focus more on other crops, direct destruction of the onions in the farms, and infrastructural damage making it hard for the harvests to timely reach the market.
