Containers are owned by shipping companies and mostly come from China to India, carrying exports of Chinese goods and the same are used to refill with Indian agricultural goods onwards to Sri Lanka, EU, Africa, ASEAN, etc. and then return to China as empty. Due to lockdown in China, containers have become scarce and also the containers already in India, slowly moving due to lockdown.
The situation may improve a little as China operations open up in early April.
