Following the success of the second harvest season of corn in Kendal regency in the Central Java province, it is projected that the current stock would be enough to accommodate the demand for dried corn kernel until at least the end of the third quarter of 2020 and early fourth quarter of 2020. The current stock is sitting at 8.5 KMT, which puts the stock at a surplus from the projected demand at 5.8 KMT from the local industry. Aside from the local market in this area, the surplus can also be used to fulfill the need of the local market in the neighboring province. Previously, in the first quarter of 2020, the local animal husbandry industry in this province has pretty much relied on the imported corn kernel from Thailand and Vietnam in order to cope with the demand for animal feed.
