Despite strict enforcement measures in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, the problem of illegal, unreported and uncontrollable fishing is worsening due to the high profitability of the investments and also due to the large area that makes it difficult for the police to operate without the cooperation of ASEAN member countries.
